Why work with me
Symetrix, Xilica, Biamp, Q-SYS and Extron, with official certification from each manufacturer. I pick the DSP that suits the project, not the only one I know how to configure.
I do not tune by ear. Smaart v8 with a Bedrock AM100 analyser, TalkBox BTB65 and a Class 1 microphone: frequency response, SPL coverage, STIPA and time alignment, all measured.
I work as backup for the integrator, with a written fixed fee. I hand over the commented DSP file and the measurement report: the system stays auditable.
Services
Each block can be hired separately or as a full project. I step in wherever you are short of capacity.
Composer designs, intelligent modules and Lua scripting. Radius, Prism and Edge, with ARC panels and remote control integrated into the room system.
Xilica Designer projects with Lua scripting and room templates. Regular work for the manufacturer itself on templates and equalisation.
Tesira, the Q-SYS Core audio and the Extron DMP/ProDSP. Integrated with the room control system, not as islands nobody knows how to touch.
Echo cancellation properly tuned for Teams and Zoom rooms: ceiling or table microphones, gating, ducking and levels set so the far end can actually understand you.
Parametric equalisation by zone, time alignment, SPL coverage and STIPA intelligibility. A report with the before and after figures, not just the result.
Sound reinforcement and voice evacuation with STIPA measurement to IEC 60268-16, and the 100 V design criteria that Spanish installations require.
How I work
1
Drawings, equipment list and what has to be heard where. If there is already a DSP installed, the current project file is enough.
2
Written fixed-fee quote, usually within 24–48 h, splitting design, commissioning and measurement in case you want to hire them separately.
3
I prepare the DSP design on the bench and leave it ready to load, so the day on site goes into tuning rather than programming.
4
Room measurement, equalisation, checklist testing and handover with the commented file, the measurement report and user training.

FAQ
It depends on your purchasing channel, the number of zones, whether there is videoconferencing and who will maintain it afterwards. Symetrix and Xilica give a lot of performance for the money; Biamp and Q-SYS fit better when the project already revolves around their ecosystem; Extron DSPs make sense if the control is already Extron. Since I do not sell product, I can recommend the right one without any catalogue pulling at me.
Automatic wizards correct what they measure from one point, and a real room does not sound the same in every seat. Measuring with Class 1 instrumentation shows the actual coverage, reflections and intelligibility, and lets you decide what to fix with EQ, what with delay, and what simply cannot be fixed without touching the acoustics or the loudspeakers.
Yes, it is a large part of my work. I audit the existing design, document it — often there is no documentation at all — and tell you what can be reused and what is better redone, with a fixed price before touching anything.
Yes. I have a TalkBox BTB65 and a Class 1 analyser compliant with IEC 60268-16, which is what intelligibility measurement on public address and voice evacuation systems requires. A report is delivered with the figures per zone.
Yes, that is the norm. On site I am part of your team and documentation can carry your branding. I do not sell installations or hardware, so I am not competing with you for the client.
Always, commented and with the measurement report. Nobody should be tied to their programmer to change the volume of a zone.
